Fall in love of the Mayfield lavender farm

It has always been a dream to visit the famous french lavender farm in Avignon. However, I have never got a chance. Luckily, there is a massive lavender farm not far away from my home. It’s located in Carshalton/Banstead in Surrey, which only took me 15mins to drive. And it’s admission free!

I must say it is really hard to describe how beautiful those little pule flowers are. They also smell lovely. I bought a bunch of them, have them in my car, just fall in love of the colour and the sweet scent.

An outstanding 20th-century garden – Nyman

Just fall in love with this beautiful 20th century garden, which filled with beauties and colours all year around. The house transformed into a Gothic mansion in the 1920s, burnt down shortly after, leaving romantic ruins. If you do interested, visit here.

The Venice in Cotswolds

It is impossible to have a full tour of Blenheim palace within just 3-4 hours-the guide book recommends staying overnight.

We won’t as we have to continue our journey to another place which is also the final destination of this weekend escape.

It has been appraised as the prettiest village in England, or is renowned as the Venice in Cotswolds. Located in the Heart of England in Gloucester Shire, close to the border of Oxford Shire, it represents the most heart-breaking beauty and home-dreaming tranquillity of English countryside.

Yes, it is Bourton-on-the-Water, if you know.

River Windrush, part of the River Thames catchment.

Look at that dog:). Hey, nice weather Mate!

A horse was appoaching me, sorry, only got a rice cracker……but anyway, she smelled and walked away, not even a lick, not giving me a face..

Drinking slowly! I know the weather is hot and the grass is salty. Sheep are indeed sheepish, never approaching people.

The following photos were taken in the modal village, which was built by the local people since 1937. It is a 9:1 replica of Bourton on the water. Even the trees are located in the exact sites where the actual trees stand in the village.

Scorching October, great weekend escape to countryside

Checked the forecast this morning, temperature could reach 28 Celsius by the afternoon. And the weather is ClOUDLESS!
Let’s go.
Departing at 9am, it took 25 mins to get on M25. Already heavy traffic could be seen on this motor way, but luckily it was on the opposite direction as everyone was heading to coasts. It seemed we were the only people going north!
After a half hour driving, the road sign leaded us onto M40, then 20 mins on A40 followed by another 10 mins on A44, and finally we got here-Blenheim Palace where Winston Churchill was born !
A magnificent Place
It is stunningly beautiful!
Here’s the quotation from Wikipedia-‘Blenheim Palace (/ˈblɛnəm/) (pronounced “Blen-im”) is a monumental country house situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England, residence of the dukes of Marlborough. It is the only non-royal non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace. The palace, one of England’s largest houses, was built between 1705 and circa 1724. UNESCO recognised the palace as a World Heritage Site in 1987.’
For us, it was indeed a nice place with a nice weather today.
So, why not just relax and take some photos?
